Every listing has a precise pin. Zoom, pan, draw a polygon to search a specific neighbourhood. Distance from work, transport, and the shape of the city all become visible.

Filters that actually work

Price, size, rooms, district, type, pets, furnished, parking, and more. All filters are free — none are paywalled.

Compare side by side

Save favorites and open them in the comparison view to weigh price-per-square-metre, distance, and amenities at a glance.

Message owners directly

No call centres, no agents calling you back. You write to the owner, the owner replies to you. The conversation lives in your inbox.

Safer marketplace

We require email verification, flag boosted listings clearly, and remove listings on credible reports of fraud. We are a venue, not the deal — but we work to keep the venue clean.

How to find a place

Open the map
Start on the homepage map. Drag to your area of interest, or use the city search.
Filter to your shortlist
Set price, size, rooms, type. Toggle furnished, pets, parking. The map updates as you go.
Save and compare
Heart the ones you like. Open them in the compare view to see them side by side.
Message the owner
Open a listing, tap "Message owner", introduce yourself, ask your questions. Replies arrive in your inbox.
Visit and decide
Schedule a viewing with the owner. The deal is between the two of you on your terms.

Renting safely

PlacePoint is a marketplace, not a party to your transaction. Practical advice that applies regardless of platform:

Never pay a deposit before seeing the property in person, on a video call you initiated, or with a trusted local you sent on your behalf.
Never wire money or send crypto to someone you have not met. Bank transfer to an IBAN is reversible only briefly; cash is not reversible at all.
Insist on a written tenancy agreement. In Latvia, both Latvian and Russian tenancy agreements are common; pick a language you actually read.
Ask for the owner’s name as it appears on the property. Cross-check against the public Latvian Land Register (Zemesgrāmata) if you want to verify ownership.
Reverse-image-search the listing photos. If they appear on listings in other cities, walk away.
Book viewings in daylight when possible. Take a friend.

Common scam patterns

These are warning signs we and other marketplaces see often. None of them are conclusive on their own, but if more than one is present, slow down.

"I’m abroad and can’t show you the place — pay a deposit and I’ll courier the keys."
"There’s another tenant interested, you must pay today to hold it."
The price is dramatically below the market for the area.
The owner refuses a video call or in-person viewing.
You are asked to communicate off-platform before you have even seen the property.
You are asked to pay through a "secure deposit" link or escrow service the owner found.
